this is fantastic. I typically avoid hiphop because tracks like this are rare. but this is really well produced, and the vocals are perfectly on time with good vibes I'm hearing in the lyrics.

sounding interesting dude! a bit out of tune in some instruments, though I can see how that might just be the style.

I'd try to make this sound a bit more melodic by applying some reverb to some of the more dry elements. also, some of the existing reverb is flushing out the rest of the mix. a good trick is to put a high pass filter on the verb., also lower its wet/volume level.

sounds great jesse! your mixes have gotten loads clearer over the years. I'd say if you wanted my critique on this it's just a tad missing some bass and low end. particularly a mid bass.

having said all that its great to hear a new song from you man :D

Great melody. Your midi translation sounds realistic.

Depending on the result you're going for, I would suggest maybe lowering the volume of the piano. The distorted sound really adds to it though! I say throw on an overdrive with a tad bit of distortion, just a TINY bit. If you were to add in some long violin articulations behind the piano would also help with giving a bit of lift.
